Job summary

Turning Point UK in Manchester is expanding its Recovery Lounge with an Overnight Recovery Worker role to support people in emotional distress. You will help triage, risk assess, de-escalate crises and enable positive steps on the recovery journey in a safe, welcoming space.

The role emphasizes listening, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach while collaborating with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for service users.

Qualifications

• Experience working within mental health, health and care or related support environments.
• A relevant qualification, lived experience, or strong personal interest in mental health and wellbeing.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine desire to support people and help them achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, recovery-focused support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
• Assist with triage, risk assessments, safety planning and crisis de-escalation.
• Create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for all service users.
• Support individuals to make informed choices and identify positive next steps for their recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in line with GDPR and organisational requirements.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for service users.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the service, including general housekeeping duties to maintain a comfortable and welcoming environment.
