Job summary
National Grid Electricity Distribution in Stoke is seeking an Overhead Line Electricity Distribution Network Technician to support Major Projects Maintenance. You will help deliver safe, efficient work on 33kV/132kV networks, plan site activities, supervise a team, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
The role requires Level 2 City & Guilds 2339, Level 3 qualification or plan to obtain it, and experience with steel towers.
Qualifications
- Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 is essential
- Level 3 City & Guilds qualification or willingness to undertake
- Proven overhead lines experience in a DNO, transmission or major projects
- Experience on steel tower infrastructure (pylons)
- Switching experience up to 132kV or working towards authorisations
- Senior Authorised Person up to 132kV or willingness to achieve
- Full, valid UK driving licence and mobility across West Midlands
- Strong IT skills and ability to use digital tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and proactive approach, standby duties as required
Responsibilities
- Issue safety documentation and ensure activities comply with safety standards
- Ensure safety and wellbeing of colleagues, contractors and the public
- Manage allocated jobs per policies and operational requirements
- Follow instructions to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Liaise with stakeholders to support project outcomes
- Mentor trainees and apprentices to develop skills
- Carry out additional tasks related to the Technician role
