Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution invites applications for a Network Technician based at Llanfihangel-ar-arth depot to oversee construction, maintenance and repair of underground and overhead networks up to 33kV. You will be responsible for programming and monitoring colleagues, issuing safety documents and related tasks.

Candidates should have GCSEs in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2, plus City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (A*-C/4-9) or Functional Skills Level 2 in both subjects.
• City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Network operations including the issue of safety documents up to 33kV.
• Construction and alteration of distribution substations and overhead lines up to 11kV; installation of plant.
• Repair and replacement of faulty plant and cables; recording asset routes and positions.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and in a small team; communicate effectively and meet deadlines.
