Job summary

Arup is seeking an early-career Overhead Line (OHL) Design Engineer to join our transmission and distribution team in the UK. You will support the delivery of OHL projects across voltage ranges, contributing to design outputs while developing skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

You will work with experienced engineers, apply CAD tools, and participate in feasibility studies, routing, profiling, and basic calculations.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and work in a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop in the OHL field.

Responsibilities

• Support feasibility studies and design reports for OHL projects.
• Assist with drawings, models and technical documentation.
• Contribute to overhead line design tasks such as routing, profiling and basic calculations.
• Work with CAD tools and support digital design outputs.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver work on programme and quality standards.
• Develop technical knowledge and understanding of industry standards.
