You will lead client discussions with boards, coach finance teams, and mentor colleagues within a growing firm offering strong career progression.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of two years' experience at Director level.
• Experience delivering outsourced finance services within an accountancy practice.
• Experience as Finance Director or in a related industry.

Responsibilities

• Advising SMEs and owner-managed businesses on financial strategy, performance and growth.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting, translating complex information into clear recommendations.
• Supporting financial integrity, regulatory compliance and high-quality statutory reporting.
• Leading board-level client discussions, identifying opportunities and challenging assumptions constructively.
• Identifying financial risks, strengthening controls and recommending improvements to processes.
• Working with audit, tax, payroll and wider teams to deliver a coordinated client service.
• Coaching clients' in-house or outsourced finance teams to improve capability and efficiency.
• Mentoring trainees and colleagues, sharing technical knowledge and supporting professional development.

Outsourcing Manager / Senior Manager – Accountancy Practice

Location: Guildford, Surrey
Salary: Manager £47,000+ | Senior Manager £53,000+, depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5.30pm. Alternative working patterns considered.

Placr Recruitment is working with a growing, multi-office accountancy firm to recruit an Outsourcing Manager / Senior Manager in Guildford.

The firm provides accountancy, taxation, payroll, advisory and financial planning services. With a modern advisory approach, it supports SMEs and owner-managed businesses with practical financial insight and strategic guidance.

This role offers the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to clients, working closely with business owners and boards. The focus is on client relationships, financial leadership and developing others through coaching and mentoring.

The role

You will help clients understand their financial position, plan ahead and make informed decisions that support growth and long-term stability.

Key responsibilities include:

About you

You will be fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification, with a minimum of two years' experience at Director level.

You will have experience delivering outsourced finance services within an accountancy practice, or a background as a Finance Director within a relevant industry.

You will also bring:

• A strong track record supporting UK SMEs across a range of sectors.
• Commercial judgement and the ability to influence financial strategy.
• Confidence advising business owners, boards and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and developing finance professionals.
• Experience supporting growing businesses, scale-ups, transformation projects or turnaround situations.
