Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. are partnering with a High School in Preston (PR3) to recruit a Teaching Assistant with outreach experience to support pupils with SEMH and additional needs.

You will work closely with SEND and pastoral teams, providing 1:1 and small-group support, building positive relationships, and helping pupils engage with learning and stay engaged. This full-time role starts November 2026 and offers an opportunity to make a real difference in students' education.

Qualifications

• All applicants must have the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
• Experience in supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils.
• Supporting students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
• Using outreach experience to encourage attendance and engagement.
• Managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
• Working with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to support learning.
