Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in a thriving secondary school in Chorley. This full-time, temporary role starts November 2026 (or sooner) and offers valuable experience within a caring school community.

You will assist teachers, run 1:1 and small group interventions, including SEN support, promote positive behaviour, and help create an inclusive learning environment that supports attainment and wellbeing for all students.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or a similar setting.
• A genuine passion for helping students succeed.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, adaptable, and positive approach.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) required.
• Teaching Assistant qualifications welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, including SEN support.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom preparation.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Promote student wellbeing and achievement throughout the school day.
