Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is recruiting a positive, enthusiastic Library Assistant to deliver a friendly library service across the county. The role involves direct customer service, assisting with ICT use, supporting children's activities and reader development, and performing clerical tasks to keep libraries running smoothly.

The post is 20.75 hours per week with varied shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Job description

20.75 hours per week; Monday 12.45 -5.30, Wednesday 12.45 -5.30, Thursday 2.00-5.30, Friday 8.45 - 5.30.

A vacancy has arisen for a positive, enthusiastic and flexible person to undertake this rewarding post providing a library service to customers to libraries across Wrexham County Borough.

The post holder will be required to provide direct customer services, handle enquiries, support customers to use ICT, participate in children’s activities and reader development activities along with clerical and administrative work to support the efficient working of the library.

The minimum educational requirement is 5 GCSE passes Grade C or above (or equivalent). The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
