Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking dynamic, on-site Mental Health support workers to help people maintain tenancies and live independently.

You will work in one of the supported living houses with induction and training, following a person-centred approach. NVQ level 2 is preferred, with commitment to achieve it if needed, and you will collaborate with a team to deliver positive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Empathy and respect for diverse individuals.
  • Ability to follow plans and work with others to achieve outcomes.
  • Willingness to achieve NVQ level 2 if not already qualified.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents in maintaining tenancies and independent living.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues to deliver a person-centred service.
  • Contribute to flexible, well-planned service delivery and outcome improvements.

Job description

Up to 25 hours per week. Working in Mental health/experience is desirable.

An exciting opportunity has arisen inthe Mental Health service for peoplewanting to make a real difference tothe lives of people in ourcommunity. We help individuals whohave mental health problems tomaintain their tenancies and liveindependently within their ownhomes. We help people to feel apart of their community; to maximisetheir wellbeing and achieve theirpersonal goals.We are looking for dynamic, self-motivated candidates who haveempathy and respect. The idealcandidate will appreciate thedifferences in others and strive todeliver a person-centred service.They will work well as part of a teamand on their own initiative; and beable to follow plans and break downbarriers to ensure outcomes areachieved. They will be flexible intheir approach and committed tomaking a positive difference.

You will be based on site in one ofthe supported living houses andqualified preferably to NVQ level 2or the ability and commitment toachieve this qualification within a settime frame.

The successful applicants will:

  • Have passion and thecommitment to work inpartnership with othercolleagues and to ensurethat the service provisionis person centred, reliableand dignified.
  • Meet the full requirementsof the role as identified inthe Job.

You will receive a comprehensiveinduction and training to support youin your role.
