Job summary

Citizens Advice Leeds is seeking an Outreach Adviser/Trainee to deliver advice sessions across Leeds, including GP surgeries and community venues, plus via telephone and digital channels. You will conduct benefits checks, assist with applications and appeals, and support team rotas to help meet targets.

Strong communication and IT skills are essential, with the training to achieve full competence in six months. Hybrid working is available, with some city centre office presence required.

Job summary

Salary: Various Hours up to Full Time (Full Time - 35 Hours) Qualified NJC Salary Scale Points 18-22 (£32,578 - £34,811) pro rata Trainees NJC Salary Scale points 7-12 (£27,274 - £29,071) pro rata

Location: Leeds

Hours per week: Various Hours up to Full Time (Full Time - 35 Hours)

About the role

As an Outreach Adviser you will join our established team delivering advice sessions at partner venues in Leeds, including GP surgeries, and other community venues, as well as via telephone and digital channels. You will play a key role in ensuring our clients receive good quality advice, including carrying out benefits checks, assisting with applications and appeals, and contributing to team rotas and targets. Strong communication skills and the flexibility to be able to work in a variety of community settings are some of the key attributes needed for this role.

Applications are invited from qualified and experienced advisers and from motivated candidates looking for a career development opportunity in the advice sector. If you can offer enthusiasm and a desire to learn, strong IT and communication skills, we’re offering training and support to enable you to achieve full competence in 6 months. All applicants should be organised, with the ability to work independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to listen, engage and empathise with vulnerable clients.
