Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a PBS Clinic Receptionist to join the Outpatients Department. You will be the first point of contact, greeting patients, managing appointments, and handling routine clerical tasks with accuracy and courtesy.

Candidates should have prior clerical experience (NHS experience desirable), excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in clerical environment; NHS exposure desirable.
• Excellent communication and a polite telephone manner.
• Ability to work well in a team and handle deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Based at Clinic Reception in the busy Outpatients Department.
• Input patient data and book appointments on the PAS system.
• Answer calls and liaise with doctors, secretaries and nurses.
• Update patient demographics and manage clinic lists.
• Work days, evenings and weekends across shift patterns.
