Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Booking and Request List Scheduler for an outpatient setting. The role involves scheduling first appointments on Cerner and ERS, prioritised by triage outcomes, and maintaining accurate PAS data within 37.5 hours in core hours (8am–4pm).

You will contact patients with sensitive waiting-time information, compile reports with the Booking and Request List Manager, and support process improvements within a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MS Office and data entry.
• Understanding of handling confidential patient information.
• Ability to learn new IT systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Book first outpatient appointments on Cerner and ERS, prioritised by triage outcome.
• Validate ERS worklists and close patient episodes when appropriate.
• Contact patients to offer appointments with sensitivity and confidentiality.
• Compile ERS worklists and Cerner reports into a service-level report.
