Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the General Outpatients team at Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital, North Glasgow. You will work with a nursing and multi-professional team to deliver patient-centred care, assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate care in an outpatient setting.

The role offers opportunities to participate in nurse-led clinics across specialties and to develop broad clinical experience.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse with current registration.
• Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
• Experience working in an outpatient setting.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Excellent communication with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated clinical judgement and ability to identify changes in a patient’s condition.
• Knowledge of professional, legal and ethical nursing frameworks.
• Experience supporting teaching, mentorship or student nurses.
• Understanding of clinical audit and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with NMC standards.
• Work with multidisciplinary colleagues and participate in nurse-led clinics.
• Support learning and development of students and junior staff.
• Contribute to research and clinical audit activity.
• Assist with performance appraisals and resource management.
• Support recruitment activities when required.
