The Best Connection in Smethwick is seeking a Yard/FLT Operative for an immediate start. The role mixes yard duties (70%) with FLT work (30%), mostly outdoors with full PPE and clothing provided.

You will handle gas cylinders, loading/unloading, and assist customers in a busy, safety-focused environment. Offers include a £15.74/hour base rate with overtime premiums, 28 days paid holiday (accrued), a company pension and staff insurance, and ongoing long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• FLT Counterbalance licence required.
• Outdoor role with hands-on yard activities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance FLT to load/unload HGVs.
• Pick gas cylinders using pick sheets.
• Load/unload stillages and secure cylinders with straps.
• Maintain a clean, safe yard and assist customers.
• Assist with general duties as required.
