Job summary

The Best Connection West Bromwich is hiring a Yard/FLT Operative in Smethwick. The role combines yard duties with FLT work, mostly outdoors, with PPE provided. Starting immediately, the position offers a stable, long-term opportunity and a Monday–Friday schedule with 07:00–17:00 hours and overtime premiums.

You will load/unload stillages, operate a Counterbalance FLT, assist with cylinders, and keep the yard safe and tidy. PPE, canteen access, and pension benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid FLT Counterbalance licence (essential).
• Strong work ethic and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading stillages.

• Supporting with general duties as required.

Our client, The Best Connection West Bromwich, is recruiting a Yard/FLT Operative to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Smethwick.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a supportive team.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 17:00

Overtime available with premium rates

About the Role

This is a varied position combining yard duties (70%) and FLT work (30%), with most of your day spent outdoors (full PPE and clothing provided).

• Loading and unloading stillages

• Operating a Counterbalance FLT to load/unload HGV vehicles
• Assisting customers with handling cylinders of varying weights
