Job summary

Essex Cares Limited is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our Bocking Roundwood Day Opportunities Service. Set in 8 acres of landscape, you will engage adults with learning disabilities and autism in person-centred activities, including horticulture and outdoor learning, to build skills and independence.

Role involves supporting activities from growing produce to life-skills development. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are required; you will join a values-driven team focused on

Qualifications

• Empathetic approach to supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Excellent listening and communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to provide personal care as part of support.
• Flexibility to work across variable shifts and environments.
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
• Full driving licence and own vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with learning disabilities and autism in outdoor and horticultural activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence and life skills through person-centred activities.
• Promote inclusion, choice and meaningful outcomes for participants.
• Document progress and activities where required.
• Work as part of a small team in a rural, outdoor setting.
