Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking a Craft Attendant at Gloucester depot to support repair, construction and alteration of assets in a team-based, outdoor environment. The role involves being away from the depot, occasionally out of hours standby, and a full driving licence is desirable. Some electrical exposure is beneficial but training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor physical work required.
• Willingness to learn and undertake new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Understand tasks before commencing work.
• Promote Health Safety & Quality at all times.
• Prepare the work site and erect signs and barriers.
• Excavate, lay cable and backfill; excavate pole holes.
• Fix meters and cut-outs; term services safely.
• Provide first aid when required; maintain tools and vehicles.
