Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking a Craft Attendant for the Gloucester depot to support repair, replacement, construction and alteration of assets. You’ll work outdoors, often in two-person teams, with travel around the depot area and occasional out-of-hours standby duties.

A full driving licence is desirable, and electrical experience with training is provided. The role emphasizes health, safety and quality, with DBS checks where required.

Qualifications

• GCSE English or equivalent required.
• Ability to work away from depot in outdoor environments.
• Full driving licence desirable for out-of-hours standby duties.

Responsibilities

• Understand tasks before starting work.
• Promote Health, Safety & Quality at all times.
• Prepare work sites and set up signs and barriers.
• Erect signs, excavate, lay cable and backfill.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe condition.
• Provide first aid when required.
• Assess site risks and communicate impacts to customers.
• Resolve customer issues where possible.
