Job summary

National Grid Interconnectors in the UK is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Technician to join the Operations team at Viking Link, Bickerfen. You will help ensure reliable, secure OT systems, networks and cyber assets across interconnector sites and control rooms.

The role involves installing, maintaining, patching, monitoring and supporting third-party contractors, with emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance and incident response.

Qualifications

• Experience with OT systems, networks or cyber assets in critical infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a live operations environment.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive issue resolution approach.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of OT assets across interconnector sites.
• Perform software patching, antivirus updates, backups and access reviews.
• Monitor asset conditions and system performance to identify and resolve issues.
• Participate in site call-out rota and support live incidents.
• Assist with asset management, change control and spare parts readiness.
• Support backup, restoration and recovery for critical systems.
