Job summary

National Grid plc is seeking an Operational Technology Technician to join the Operations team. The role focuses on reliable operation of OT systems, networking infrastructure and cyber assets across interconnector sites and control rooms.

You will work with a skilled team to maintain system performance, strengthen cyber security and support safe operation of critical energy infrastructure on site in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience with Operational Technology systems, networks or cyber assets.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proactive problem solving and good IT literacy.
• Understanding health, safety and environmental requirements in an ops/engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, refurbish and repair OT systems and cyber assets.
• Perform software patching, antivirus updates, backups and access reviews.
• Monitor asset condition and system performance to identify issues.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance across sites.
• Ensure work complies with legislation and procedures.
• Participate in site call-out rota and incident support.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors on works.
• Support cyber security, engineering and assurance initiatives.
• Assist asset management, change management and spare readiness.
• Support backup, restoration and recovery for critical systems.
