Job summary

National Gas is seeking an Operations Technician to maintain and improve electrical, instrumentation, control, and OT assets across our network. You will diagnose faults, support PLC/SCADA systems, and help implement cyber security controls while working across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have hands-on electrical/instrumentation experience, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to interpret drawings. A standby rota after training is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Operational Technology or Cyber environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical, instrumentation, control, and OT assets across multiple sites.
• Diagnose faults and restore equipment performance to support reliable operations.
• Support maintenance and improvement of PLC, SCADA, control and industrial network systems.
• Carry out inspections, testing and planned maintenance activities.
• Support the implementation of OT and cyber security controls.
• Collaborate with contractors and specialist teams to deliver safe solutions.
• Participate in a standby rota after training.
