Job summary

Jagex in Cambridge is seeking an expert Community Manager for Old School RuneScape to translate deep game knowledge into community strategy. You’ll advise designers on how updates land with players, shape communication, and ensure players feel heard throughout the process.

This role emphasizes game knowledge as central, requires comfort on camera for weekly livestreams, strong written and verbal communication, and experience in community management or PR under high-pressure situations.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Old School RuneScape, its content and player ecosystems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with adaptable tone.
• Comfort being on camera and speaking publicly; weekly livestreams expected.
• Experience in community management, PR, or related high-pressure communications.
• Ability to think critically, propose practical solutions, and advocate for the community.

Responsibilities

• Advise designers on how updates will land with different player groups.
• Manage forums, Reddit, Discord, and social media, building relationships daily.
• Produce livestreams, videos, and podcasts as a public-facing voice.
• Represent community sentiment to development teams.
• Build relationships with partners, influencers, volunteers, and sub-communities.
• Monitor sentiment and provide data-driven insights.
• Contribute to in-game and real-world events and community activations.
