Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital invites applications for an Orthopaedic Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary team. The role requires BOA Casting Certificate with the ability to work autonomously and deliver high standards of care through expert assessment and planning.

Applicants may be considered for a training post under Agenda for Change annexe 21 for up to two years, progressing to senior status upon competency and casting certificate milestones.

Qualifications

• Completion of British Orthopaedic Association Casting Certificate within 2 Years
• NVQ Level 3 Qualification or Equivalent Experience
• Experience of working as a Band 3 Health Care Worker or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dedication to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Responsibilities

• Ensure practice is in accordance with the BOA Code of Professional Conduct and work within limits of competence
• Successfully completed the BOA casting course
• Maintain a high standard of patient care applying evidence-based practice
• Maintain competence in all aspects of casting and cast care including application, maintenance and removal of orthopaedic appliances, slings, splints and braces
• Conduct aseptic techniques and be able to clean and dress wounds; remove sutures and staples as required
