Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Orthopaedic Practitioner to join a dynamic team. The post emphasises autonomous assessment, treatment planning and clinical decision-making, with a clear path to develop into a Plaster technician/Orthopaedic Practitioner within 24 months.

Initial 1-year fixed term, with extension to a further 2nd year upon competency. Applications from those in training may be considered under Agenda for Change (Annexe 21).

Qualifications

• BOA Casting Certificate required where relevant.
• Experience in orthopaedic outpatient and acute trauma settings preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously with sound clinical judgement.

Responsibilities

• Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces with competence.
• Assess, plan and implement patient care in Orthopaedic settings.
• Support paediatric and adult patients across Emergency, Theatres, Wards and Therapy.
• Work within BOA guidelines and Trust policies to maintain high standards of care.
• Potential development into Plaster technician/Orthopaedic Practitioner within 24 months.
