Job summary

The Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an Orthopaedic Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary team. You will work with the Orthopaedic Department to maintain high standards of patient care under the Department Lead, applying and removing casts, splints and braces with autonomy.

You will support paediatric and adult patients across Emergency, Theatres, Wards and Therapy Services, with development opportunities to become a plaster technician/Orthopaedic Practitioner.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge in application and removal of casts, splints and braces.
• Experience in orthopaedic outpatient and acute trauma settings.
• Support paediatric and adult patients across Emergency, Theatres, Wards and Therapy Services.
• Able to work autonomously with sound clinical judgement and care planning.
• Training path to become plaster technician/Orthopaedic Practitioner within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement high standards of patient care within the orthopaedic team.
• Deliver expert assessment and clinical decision-making to patients across departments.
• Develop skills towards casting, splinting and orthopaedic procedures as part of the role.
