Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated team member to support the Trauma and Orthopaedic service in the Plaster Room, FR fracture clinic, GRH. You will gain hands-on experience in casting, safety protocols and patient care within a supportive, mentor-led environment.

You will complete competencies with a tutor, learn about plaster materials, walking devices, and flexible patient support while upholding NHS standards and infection control practice.

Qualifications

• A-Levels and ongoing professional development are expected.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage responsibilities within a clinical setting.
• Experience in hospital or care assistance is beneficial.
• Ability to make safe, informed decisions regarding patient care in cast-related situations.

Responsibilities

• Support Health, Safety and Welfare within the Plaster Room and fracture clinic.
• Learn all aspects of plaster room safety, hygiene and material handling.
• Help measure and issue walking devices and fit off-the-shelf splints.
• Progress through BOA Casting Course prerequisites with mentor guidance.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with Trust policies and infection control.
