Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Technician based in Swansea, to support therapists in older person’s mental health services. The role involves community, hospital and home visits, aiming to help clients live independently.

You will work as part of the OT team, undertake assessments, promote wellbeing, and help implement care plans, with opportunities for CPD and professional development.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with individuals or groups.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Flexible approach to service needs and workload.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Ability to assist with safe patient handling and use of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Occupational Therapists in a defined area.
• Assist with assessments and therapeutic interventions.
• Promote independence and wellbeing in community and inpatient settings.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
• Carry out relevant administrative duties for the service.
• Participate in CPD and complete Diploma of Occupational Therapy Support.
