Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is seeking an Organisation Design & Transformation Practitioner to lead complex reviews and enable evidence-led change across the region. You will work with Executive Directors and senior leaders to scope, design options and plan implementation, ensuring governance and professional standards are met.

The role emphasizes stakeholder navigation, delivery of operating models, and coaching teams to adopt a solid OD framework, with hybrid working and regular

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading complex organisation design reviews with Director or Executive sponsors.
• Experience delivering operating model and organisation design programmes in complex orgs.
• Strong ability to coach and advise senior leaders through change.
• Ability to remain neutral and build credibility in sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of Organisation Design, Organisation Development and transformation methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead organisation design reviews from initiation to implementation planning.
• Engage Executive Directors and senior leaders to scope and lead reviews.
• Facilitate organisation design sprints and diagnostic activities.
• Develop evidence-led options using principles, affordability and risk criteria.
• Build trust with stakeholders and manage competing priorities for decisions.
• Ensure governance and professional standards are met in design work.
• Coach leaders and colleagues to use the Organisation Design framework consistently.
• Deliver Change Assessments and advise on change impacts.
