Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle HCM Payroll Solution Architect to provide technical solution leadership for complex Oracle Cloud HCM implementations, with a particular focus on UK Payroll. The successful candidate will combine strong payroll expertise with a hands-on understanding of Oracle HCM architecture, cross-module dependencies and end-to-end solution design.
This is a solution-focused role rather than a hands-on configuration position. You will guide the delivery team through complex system challenges, ensure seamless integration across HCM modules, and translate business requirements into robust, compliant solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture and design for Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll implementations, ensuring alignment with UK payroll legislation and business requirements.
- Provide technical and functional solution leadership across Core HR, Payroll, Absence Management, Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) and Workforce Scheduling.
- Identify and resolve complex solution challenges, understanding technical dependencies, data flows and integration points across HCM modules.
- Guide and mentor payroll consultants and delivery teams, providing architectural oversight and ensuring high-quality solution delivery.
- Facilitate business process and solution design workshops, translating client requirements into scalable Oracle HCM solutions.
- Provide expert guidance on payroll processing, testing, payroll validation and Payroll Preview Report (PPR) activities.
- Support end-to-end solution design, ensuring accurate data flows between HCM modules and reliable payroll outcomes.
- Work closely with functional, technical, integration, testing and support teams to resolve issues and maintain solution integrity.
- Advise clients on Oracle HCM capabilities, product enhancements and release updates, identifying opportunities to improve existing solutions.
- Contribute to pre-sales activities, including solution demonstrations, technical input and proposals where required.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Oracle Cloud HCM, with strong expertise in UK Payroll implementations.
- Proven experience in a Solution Architect or senior solution leadership role within complex Oracle HCM programmes.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, payroll processing and compliance requirements.
- Broad knowledge of Oracle HCM modules, particularly Core HR, Payroll, Absence Management, OTL and Workforce Scheduling.
- Strong technical solution design skills, including an understanding of cross-module dependencies, integrations and end-to-end data flows.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system and solution issues and guide delivery teams towards effective resolutions.
- Experience leading solution design workshops and translating business requirements into robust technical and functional solutions.
- Proven ability to mentor consultants and provide architectural guidance without needing to undertake day-to-day configuration.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business requirements and Oracle HCM capabilities.
