Job summary

Optical People in Hinckley is seeking an experienced Optical Assistant to join our friendly independent practice. You will welcome patients, assist with frame/lens selection, dispense eyewear, take measurements and support reception duties, ensuring a personal service for every patient.

We offer a full-time position (4 days possible) in a welcoming team, with opportunities to build strong relationships with patients and contribute to the smooth running of the practice.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working as an Optical Assistant.
• Has a good understanding of optical dispensing and eyewear.
• Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Is friendly, confident and professional.
• Is organised, reliable and able to work well as part of a small team.
• Takes pride in providing a high standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner.
• Supporting patients with frame and lens selection.
• Dispensing and advising on eyewear.
• Taking measurements and carrying out pre-screening where appropriate.
• Booking appointments and handling general reception duties.
• Processing orders and liaising with suppliers.
• Providing excellent aftercare and customer service.
• Supporting the wider team with the smooth running of the practice.
