SpaMedica is seeking an Optical Assistant to join our Newark Hospital cluster. You will support optometrists, assist in pre- and post-operative clinics, and help manage diagnostics and theatre equipment across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting optometrists in everyday clinics and performing diagnostic examinations.
• Proficient in using the Medisoft database.
• Committed to patient confidentiality and GPDR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
• Work alongside the optometrists in day-to-day clinics carrying out diagnostics examinations.
• Assist in pre- and post-operative clinics for all patients.
• Act as theatre runner and escort in busy theatre environment.
• Be proficient in the company database (Medisoft).
• Follow correct procedure for reporting accidents or incidents.
• Prepare all areas prior to clinical activities, ensuring equipment is checked and ready for use.
• Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Assist with stock control and maintain par levels.
• Manage diagnostic and theatre equipment daily.
• Ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GPDR.
