Job summary

SpaMedica in Bexhill (Ground Floor, High Weald House) is hiring an Optical Assistant. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, across 4 days out of 6, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a salary of £27,762. You will support optometrists, perform diagnostics, and help run pre- and post-operative clinics.

Qualifications

• Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
• Work with optometrists in day-to-day clinics performing diagnostics examinations.
• Assist in the running of pre- and post-operative clinics for all patients.
• Act as theatre runner in a busy theatre environment.
• Be proficient in company database i.e Medisoft and maintain patient confidentiality in line with GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
• Work alongside the optometrists in the day to day running of clinics carrying out the relevant diagnostics examinations.
• Assist in the running of pre and post-operative clinics for all patients.
• Act as theatre runner, escort in busy theatre environment.
• Be proficient in company database i.e medisoft
• Follow correct procedure for reporting any accidents or incidents.
• Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities, ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use.
• Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Assist with stock control, ensuring realistic par levels are maintained and all items are readily available.
• Manages all the diagnostic and theatre equipment on a daily basis.
• To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GPDR
