Job summary

SpaMedica seeks an Optical Assistant in Dorchester to support clinicians in diagnostics, pre- and post-operative clinics, and theatre operations. You will work across multiple sites within the Dorchester cluster, contributing to patient safety and excellent care.

The role requires 37.5 hours weekly, typically four days over six, with shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Training and development are available; salary is £27,762 per year.

Qualifications

• Experience with clinical governance principles.
• Ability to support optometrists in daily clinics and exams.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinical governance principles.
• Work with optometrists in diagnostics and clinic operations.
• Assist in pre- and post-operative clinics for all patients.
• Act as theatre runner in busy theatre environment.
• Maintain the Medisoft database and report incidents.
• Ensure equipment storage is correct and ready for use.
• Assist with stock control and par levels.
• Manage diagnostic and theatre equipment daily.
