Inspired Selections Group in Wigan is seeking an Optical Assistant with at least 5 years' optics experience. You will dispense a wide range of frames and premium lenses, offering expert, personalized patient care and building lasting relationships.

The role involves supporting daily operations, promoting specialist services like a dry eye clinic, and contributing to team targets. You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats and potentially assisting another nearby practice.

Formación

• Minimum of 5 years' experience working within optics.
• Experience in an independent practice preferred.
• Strong dispensing skills and confidence handling high volume dispensing.
• Understanding of premium lenses and quality eyewear.

Responsabilidades

• Dispense a wide range of frames and lenses including premium options.
• Provide expert advice and a personalised experience to every patient.
• Build genuine relationships with patients and encourage repeat visits.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
• Help promote specialist services, including the dry eye clinic.
• Contribute towards practice performance and team targets.
• Get involved in different areas of the business and wear several hats.
• Potentially support another nearby practice when required.
• Assist with social media and practice promotion if you enjoy this.

Salary: Around £25,500 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Full time , half day Saturday , closed on a Sunday

Location: Wigan

We're working with a lovely, family-run independent opticians in the Wigan area, based in a welcoming village location where personal service, quality eyewear, and building lasting relationships with patients are at the heart of everything they do.

This isn't your typical high-street optical role. The practice offers a more personalised approach, with a focus on premium lenses, quality products and exceptional patient care.

Important Requirement

You must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working within optics. Applications without this will not be considered.

What we are looking for

• At least 5 years' experience working as an Optical Assistant
• Previous independent practice experience, ideally
• Strong dispensing skills and confidence handling a high volume of dispensing
• A good understanding of premium lenses and quality eyewear
• A warm, friendly personality and a naturally welcoming approach
• A genuine commitment to outstanding patient care
• The ability to multitask, take initiative, and support the wider team
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience would be a real advantage
• An interest in social media would be a bonus
• A driving licence and willingness to occasionally support another practice
