Job summary

SpaMedica is hiring an Optical Assistant in Bexhill to support optometrists, perform diagnostic examinations, and assist in pre- and post-operative clinics across multiple sites. The role emphasizes patient care, safety and satisfaction within a reputable NHS cataract surgery provider.

The position is full-time (37.5 hours), 4 days out of 6, working 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a salary of £27,762 and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
• Work alongside the optometrists in day-to-day clinics carrying out diagnostics examinations.
• Assist in pre- and post-operative clinics for all patients.

• Assist in the running of pre and post-operative clinics for all patients.
• Act as theatre runner, escort in busy theatre environment.
• Be proficient in company database i.e medisoft.
• Follow correct procedure for reporting any accidents or incidents.
• Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities, ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use.
• Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Assist with stock control, ensuring realistic par levels are maintained and all items are readily available.
• Manages all the diagnostic and theatre equipment on a daily basis.
• To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GPDR

Role: Optical Assistant

Location: Ground Floor, High Weald House, Bexhill Enterprise Park, Bexhill, TN39 5ES

This role will be based within our Bexhill cluster, which involves working across multiple sites.

Hours: Full‑time position, 37.5 hours per week, working 4 days out of 6, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Salary: £27,762
