Job summary

Vision Express UK LTD (Dover) offers an 18‑month apprenticeship leading to a Level 3 Optical Retail qualification. You will receive comprehensive training and support as you learn how to assist customers, adjust frames, and deliver personalised eyewear experiences.

You will support customers with eyewear selection, use focimeters for prescriptions, and handle NHS paperwork while developing essential optical knowledge and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Be at least 16 years old.
• GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
• Not be engaged in full- or part-time education.
• Demonstrate confidence, passion and enthusiasm.
• Demonstrate teamwork and excellent customer service skills.
• Willing to work between 35 and 38.75 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Interpret and understand a clinically issued prescription and its effects on the eye.
• Help customers select spectacles that suit comfort, looks, and lifestyle.
• Explain features and benefits of frames in non-technical language.
• Measure frames to fit and adjust as needed.
• Perform basic frame repairs and pre-screening tests.
• Complete NHS paperwork and maintain written records.
