Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Patient Services Administrator for the Ophthalmology department. The role covers cross-site work at Lister Hospital, New QEII, and Hertford County Hospital, with part-time hours and a Saturday per month.

You will manage bookings, reception duties, patient records, and referrals using PAS and Choose and Book, supporting timely patient care.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• ECDL.
• Ability to work in a busy office environment.
• Experience of NHS patient records processes.
• Understanding of NHS procedures.

Responsibilities

• Book clinics and answer the phone.
• Provide reception cover for clinics.
• Cashing out clinics and liaising with clinicians.
• Report potential concerns regarding clinic availability.
• Confirm the validity and accuracy of patient demographics and update systems.
• Use the PAS system and Choose and Book to manage referrals and bookings.
