Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare is hiring an experienced Healthcare Technician or HCA (Band 3) for our Hounslow hospital. This part-time role (19 hours/week, Tue/Thu preferred) offers funded training and a supportive team, with a generous benefits package and opportunities for development.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide quality ophthalmic patient care across clinical and some administrative duties, including preassessment and outpatient care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare or ophthalmic sector.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care throughout visits to Optegra.
• Work with clinical staff to ensure smooth operating lists.
• Perform diagnostic testing in clinic (Biometry, OCT, A-Scan, Visual fields).
• Support patients on surgery days with effective communication.
• Handle patient enquiries and refer to a medical practitioner when needed.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care within competence.
