Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmology services across BHRUT sites, including Queens Hospital and King George Hospital in Romford. The role involves diagnostic testing and contributing to patient care within a busy NHS eye service.

The post requires NVQ 3 or equivalent, proven ophthalmic technician experience, and excellent communication and team working skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proven experience as ophthalmic technician.
• Training provided where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual acuity assessments.
• Conduct automated visual field testing and manual tests.
• Carry out OCT imaging and other ophthalmic investigations.
• Work within a multidisciplinary ophthalmology team.
