Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for the Ophthalmology Imaging Technician role. You will join the Ophthalmic Imaging Team to deliver high-quality imaging and visual field services to outpatients and inpatients.

Experience with OCT, fundus photography and visual field testing is essential, as is confidence in producing clear retinal images and accurate patient records. The role includes rotation to a satellite clinic and working within a busy Eye Unit.

Qualifications

• Science A Level or equivalent experience.
• Experience in ophthalmic imaging or related field to Level 4 Diploma equivalent.
• Good understanding of eye anatomy and ophthalmic conditions.
• Ability to perform visual field and visual acuity assessments with independence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialised ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic procedures to patients.
• Accurately recording patient information on imaging platforms and linking results to the correct patient.
• Support diagnosis and ongoing care of patients with a range of ophthalmic conditions.
• Work with ophthalmic consultants, optometrists and the MDT to maintain high imaging standards.
• Provide imaging services for outpatients, inpatients and Eye Emergency patients.
