Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Ophthalmic Imaging Technician to join the Ophthalmic Imaging Team. You will deliver high-quality imaging and visual field assessments for outpatients, inpatients and Eye Emergency patients, working with Ophthalmic Consultants and Optometrists.

Applicants should have practical ophthalmic imaging experience, be able to record patient data accurately, and competently use OCT, fundus photography, visual fields and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous ophthalmic imaging experience essential.
• Good understanding of eye anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to perform visual field and visual acuity assessments independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality visual field and diagnostic imaging service for outpatients, inpatients and Eye Emergency.
• Record patient information accurately on each imaging platform and ensure images/results are linked to the correct patient.
• Support accurate diagnosis and ongoing care using imaging data.
• Assist with rotation to satellite clinic at Lymington New Forest Hospital.
