Job summary
New Medical Systems Ltd, operating as Newmedica, seeks an ophthalmic nurse to support NHS-funded eye care in outpatient clinics and on theatre days. You will take patient histories, perform diagnostic testing, inform patients about conditions and treatments, and assist with minor procedures.
Current NMC registration is essential. You will teach and mentor a small multidisciplinary team, keep accurate patient records, contribute to audits and CPD, and support the consultant and theatre staff on
Qualifications
- Intermediate Life Support training is required.
- Current NMC registration is essential.
- Experience in ophthalmic testing and patient care is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Take accurate patient histories and perform diagnostic testing.
- Explain conditions and treatment options to patients.
- Assist with minor operations in the treatment room.
- Support outpatient clinics and theatre days as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records (electronic or handwritten).
- Participate in clinical audits and CPD.
