Job summary
Newmedica Worcester is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. You will support outpatient clinics, pre- and post-operative assessments, and assist theatre teams, delivering high-quality patient care.
The role requires a nursing degree and NMC registration, with a minimum of 3 years’ hospital eye service experience. Proficiency in Visual Acuity and IOP checks, plus strong IT skills, will help ensure safe, efficient care for patients in a busy ophthalmology
Qualifications
- Nursing degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Current NMC registration is essential.
- 3+ years hospital eye service experience expected.
- Proficiency with Visual Acuity and IOP checks.
- Driver's licence and willingness to travel to spoke sites.
Responsibilities
- Support outpatients across clinics including pre/post-operative assessment.
- Assist in theatre preparation and runner role on the day of theatre.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to care standards.
- Record patient history accurately and perform diagnostic procedures.
- Advise patients on eye care and treatment options.
