Job summary

Veolia in Padworth, Reading, is hiring a Waste Collection Operative to join a local team. You will collect waste from outside residential properties, manually handle and tip bins, and provide a high standard of service to residents.

You'll work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 06:30–15:00, with overtime when needed. The role is outdoors in all weather, requires good safety adherence, and offers a range of benefits including annual leave, pension, and development opportunities.

• Walk up to 10 miles per day in all weather conditions.

What you'll be doing

• Working as part of a team to collect waste from outside residential properties within West Berkshire
• Manually pulling bins and loading them onto the refuse vehicle to tip the waste
• Using your communication skills to deliver a high standard of service to the residents
• Accurately recording work completed and reporting any collection issues onto mobile tablet devices provided
• This role includes physical duties and you will be walking up to 10 miles per day in all weather conditions.
