Job summary

Together Financial Services Limited is seeking an Operational Trainer to support onboarding and development across the Operations teams at our office in Cheadle. The role uses a blended learning approach aligned to the 70:20:10 model to ensure recruits gain technical knowledge and skills for competence and growth.

You will design and deliver colleague academies, monitor new joiners, and collaborate with Risk, Central Talent and Development, HR, and recruitment to align training with the Together

Qualifications

• Proven experience in training delivery, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of onboarding processes and adult learning principles.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to analyse performance data and provide actionable feedback.
• Experience designing training materials and programmes.
• Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to apply the 70:20:10 model when designing learning journeys.
• Experience with LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
• CIPD Level 3 or above in Learning & Development (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective onboarding programmes for new colleagues.
• Ensure new recruits understand business processes, systems, and compliance requirements.
• Support individuals in achieving role competence within agreed timeframes.
• Collaborate with Risk, Central Talent and Development, HR, recruitment, operations and business stakeholders to design and run colleague academies.
• Deliver structured training programmes to cohort groups reinforcing learning via the 70:20:10 model.
• Continuously improve content based on feedback, business needs and priorities.
• Track progress and performance of new recruits during onboarding and academy phases.
• Identify development needs and provide coaching or additional support where required.
• Provide insights to the recruitment team to enhance future hiring decisions.
• Work closely with team leaders, HR and recruitment to align training with business goals.
• Act as a point of contact for training queries and support.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Ensure local activity connects to the wider Together framework.
