A Day in the Life of an Operations Technician

You will work directly with customer service teams assisting residential and commercial collection customers, delivering and removing plastic carts, collecting and disposing of various items, and maintaining service records. Your role involves setting up and removing sanitation containers at various city locations, operating light equipment, and using hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

When not in the field, you’ll provide advice to colleagues on policies and problems, supporting different departments as needed. Your skills in operating construction equipment and performing industrial maintenance are essential, and your enjoyment of hands-on work will be a great fit for this role.

Qualifications for an Operations Technician

• High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience/training
• At least 1 year of experience in a related field
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in Solid Waste Management or similar
• TDH Vector License/Certification (within 1 year of hire)
• First Aid/CPR Certification (within 1 year of hire)
• NIMS Certification (within 1 year of hire)
