This position reports to:

Field Service Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will execute service work of medium to high complexity following work instructions and ABB guidelines. You will deliver excellent customer service daily, identifying opportunities within the installed base to improve system and operational performance. The work model is remote, supporting the Electrification Service division in Tempe, AZ. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with ABB HSE standards, ABB Way, and safety policies at all times.
  • Performing hands-on execution of projects such as startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, busways, UPS, and related systems.
  • Leading outages with other engineers, technicians, and contractors, managing project documentation, and administrative tasks like reports and quotations.
  • Planning and organizing field assignments, directing work of team members, and expanding technical knowledge.
  • Developing and delivering training programs to share expertise.
  • Managing administrative functions related to work, including technical reports, material orders, and expense tracking.
  • Controlling costs and safeguarding company assets.
  • Collaborating with customers and sales teams to identify new service opportunities and develop proposals.
Qualifications for the role
  • High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of relevant field engineering experience.
  • Technical skills in testing and repairing power distribution equipment, including LV and MV circuit breakers and relays.
  • Experience with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting medium voltage machinery and controls is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of the industrial customer base in the geographical area.
  • Must have existing work authorization in the US; visa sponsorship is not available.
