Job summary

gategroup is seeking a Team Leader for a 12-month fixed-term contract in the UK. The role requires managing a 5 on 3 off pattern with a 07:00–16:30 shift, ensuring targets are met and KPIs met. In-house training, meals, parking and a pension scheme support your development and long-term commitment.

You will lead a team in a fast-paced environment, drive performance, and uphold health and safety standards while maintaining excellent customer service and staff welfare.

Qualifications

• A-levels or equivalent and/or relevant work experience.
• Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in catering or hospitality.
• Basic Hygiene knowledge.
• Experience in production/manufacturing/stores environment.
• Experience in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrable accountability.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the team’s output to meet business, section and customer targets.
• Monitor performance daily and escalate concerns to the Duty Manager.
• Conduct shift briefings and report KPI data.
• Attend daily operational meetings and present requested information.
• Resolve conflicts with strong communication and negotiation.
• Create a positive working environment and maintain compliance.
• Cover health and safety, food safety and security requirements.
• Act as point of contact between unit and airside operation as needed.
• Contribute to and manage within defined working systems for quality service.
• Rotate through departments and cover a 7-day operation when required.
