Operations Support Manager

DP World Minworth is currently looking for an Operations Support Manager to join our UK Automotive Operations team in the Coleshill area of Birmingham. The Operations Support Manager will deliver operational excellence in Business As Usual (BAU) and new business launches, ensuring company’s operational policies, rules, and goals are met.

How will you contribute:

  • Collaborate with the UK Senior Management Team in setting and driving organisational vision and Operations strategy.
  • Support existing operational teams to improve process and employee productivity, guiding teams through recognised Continuous Improvement (CI) company programs and tools ensuring that organisational and local site goals are met.
  • Support operational launch of new business and process change within the business, ensuring program objectives are defined and delivered according to customer or corporate expectations.
  • Support existing operational teams in ensuring company reporting is completed accurately and on time through corporate portals and that shop floor teams' boards are in place and consistent.
  • Assist existing operational teams in rolling out new customer or corporate initiatives and programs.
  • Monitor and adhere to site Health & Safety standards including equipment use while meeting company objectives with respect to safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and environment.
  • Provide leadership and management direction for all local line and staff personnel consistent with the Strategic Business objectives of DP World.
  • Advise and train first line managers and staff on company policy regarding team supervision, customer interface, and interacting with staff representatives.
  • Support the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law and local governing bodies.
  • Actively support all lean initiatives, such as 5S, standardised work, and people involvement.
  • Develop and improve operational processes.

What will you Bring:

  • Five or more years of experience in leadership roles.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Understanding of advanced business planning.
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
  • Experience delivering successful continuous improvement projects with tangible savings.
  • Experience working within program launch environments.
