Our Shift Manager will proactively manage the daily operation, with responsibility for safety, cost, quality, compliance, and people KPIs – in line with company, legal, and airline standards. To be actively involved and maintain an effective and productive team focused on results and developing effective customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities of a Shift Manager:
- Maintain the highest standards in quality, food safety, HACCP, and Health & Safety.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and delays to determine root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure work is completed according to the daily schedule, costs are within targets, and escalate issues to the Operations Manager when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Shift Supervisor to manage rosters, work schedules, and team effectiveness fairly and transparently.
- Manage material, product, and related costs within budget and deadlines.
- Manage targets and demonstrate their impact on business performance; champion change initiatives and improvements with OPS Ex.
- Ensure customer service standards are met and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to all legislation, company policies, and compliance standards.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to the team; handle employee relations issues per company policy.
Requirements:
- Problem-solving skills.
- Stakeholder management.
- Computer literacy: Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Experience in people management, including performance, holidays, rosters, and absence management.
- Experience in fast-paced environments like manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG.
- Understanding of cost and control management.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational skills and flexibility.
